About the movie
Based on a true story of Liz Murray
Liz Murray,was born in the slums of the United States , her family was always riddled with problems;parents are alcoholism and drug abuser , the mother suffered from schizophrenia. Liz's mother died of AIDS when Liz was 15 . Father went to the shelter. Liz became homeless and she need to go out begging, with some of her friends wandering in the corner of the suffering city , life seems endless. As Liz grown up , she realized that only by education can only change their destiny , out of the quagmire like the current situation . One time,she got an exam paper from the teacher ,she did a pretty complete responses , through that one time opportunity,she secure the opportunity to study . Then, Liz started her school journey .She intends to complete four years of high school science curriculum in two years . She tried to apply for scholarships , only a full scholarship to the New York Times for her to finish college , and then she tried to apply for this scholarship. She don't even have a decent clothes when she go for the interview, she borrowed clothes from her sister. At the last part of the movie , she walked confidently into the footsteps of Harvard 's School . Poverty does not stop Liz's determination to move forward.In her life,she never stops to strive towards her goals…

The Choices
This is the most important part of the movie,where Liz made her decision to go back to school, after all ,she realized that education was important to her and its the only way to change her life!
"I’m smart. I know I can succeed. I just need a chance. A chance to climb out of this place I’ve born in. Everyone I know are angry and tired. They’re trying to survive. But I know that there is a world out there that is better, that’s better developed. And I want to live in it."

Personal Review
Liz Murray had truly inspired us through her experiences and suffering and it really shows that we all can make a change if you put your mind into it.I think,at certain point of our lives we all face problems of various degrees.But no matter how tough the situation seems to be,we must face it with bravery.Be someone that make the change to let your life and the world around you a better place.I loved the movie,it really gives me great inspiration to work harder,the story,the music and also the performance of Thora Birch(act in the movie as Liz Murray)
